Getting started
What is CoThread?
CoThread is one place for the practical side of co-parenting: messages, a shared calendar and check-ins, shared between you and your co-parent.
When can I start using it?
CoThread isn't available yet. Join the early-access list and we'll email you when it is.
How much does it cost?
You'll start with a free trial when CoThread launches. If you're working with an attorney, ask them for a code: it extends your free period. Fee waivers may be available where courts allow.
Does it work for our family's arrangement?
Yes. Separate homes, a nesting arrangement or a setup all your own: CoThread doesn't assume any particular custody or living arrangement. It keeps the shared logistics in one place, whatever they look like.
What if my co-parent isn't on CoThread yet?
Relay Mode, an optional add-on planned for a later release, gives your thread its own phone number. Your co-parent can text it from their phone, without an account. On their first text, they're told once that their messages are kept on a shared thread they can view.
Are there other add-ons?
CoThread AI+, also planned for a later release, lets you ask questions about your own thread, like when a pickup time was agreed, and get answers that point to the exact messages and events. It finds and cites; it never writes messages for you. Add-ons are always optional.
Messages, calendar and check-ins
Can I edit or delete a message after I send it?
No. Once a message is sent, it stays as sent for both of you. If you need to correct something, you can add a correction beside it.
Does CoThread suggest edits or judge my tone?
No. CoThread never rewrites your words, scores your tone or suggests changes. If you'd like a moment before something goes out, you can turn on “Confirm before sending,” or schedule a message for later.
What happens when a calendar event changes?
You'll both see what changed, who changed it and when. If an event is deleted, it's still visible on the thread, marked as deleted.
How do check-ins work?
When you arrive at an exchange, tap “I'm here,” and your co-parent sees where and when you arrived. Your location is shared only at that moment. CoThread never collects your location in the background or shares it live.
Privacy and sharing
Who can see what's on our thread?
You and your co-parent see the same thread, and the same list of anyone else who has access to it.
Can my attorney see it?
Only if you invite them. You decide who has access, and both parents can always see which professionals do.
Can I export our history?
Yes. You can export it whenever you need it, for example to share with your attorney.
How do I know nothing has been changed?
Every message, calendar change and check-in gets a digital fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) the moment it's created, linked to the one before it. If anything were altered, it would show.
What does CoThread do with my information?
Before the app keeps anything, it tells you what it keeps, who can see it and for how long. Our privacy policy covers this website and the early-access list.
Help and safety
Does CoThread give legal advice?
No. CoThread helps with the logistics of co-parenting. For questions about your case, talk to your attorney.
What if my children or I are in danger?
CoThread isn't an emergency service. If you or your children are in danger, call 911. For confidential support, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available 24/7 at 1-800-799-7233.
How do I contact you?
Email support@lexledgersystems.com. Please don't include anything about your case, your children or your co-parent.
